The contest, organised by the Counselling and Career Section, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education, aims to support the anti-drugs awareness campaign to all levels of communities by focussing on youths and school students.

The 'A-Team' group has five student members from Year Nine to assist the school counsellors, Cikgu Dk Zunainah binte Pg Haji Aliuddin and Cikgu Hasbul Wafi Fakri bin Abdullah @ Bundan in organising activities and programmes to raise drug awareness in the school.

Nineteen members from Year Seven and Year Nine are also members of 'A-Team' since the group has been formed three months ago.

The 'A-Team' group has conducted numerous drug prevention activities in and outside of school. A banner created by the team is hung at the school compound to deliver the strong message to students and visitors on the misuse of drugs.

To educate the students further, 'A-Team' members created an 'Anti-Drugs' corner in the school library to provide knowledge and stressed the consequences of drug abuse through dissemination of information, posters, books and pictures.

A quiz on drug prevention is also open to school students to stimulate interest among them to learn more on the dangers of drugs.

The 'A-Team' group is also rehearsing for the preliminary level contest, which is taking place today in the Brunei-Muara District, where 14 groups from schools nationwide will present on their analysis, research, activities and video clips.
